City of Sault Ste. Marie issued the following announcement on June 11
A final decision was made Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 , led by the Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors, to postpone Downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan’s annual Music in the Park Summer Concert series until summer of 2021. This annual concert series spans June – August and features local and regional talents, hosted in the beautiful Soo Locks Park.
The decision to postpone was based on COVID-related concerns and in consideration of the best interest of health and safety for Sault Ste. Marie residents and tourists alike. “Although this was a challenging decision to make, we are confident the decision reflects best practice on behalf of the organization,” states, Lindsay Ellis, Main Street Coordinator for the Downtown Development Authority.
