One of the most accessible state senators in Michigan, Wayne Schmidt (R-Traverse City) has announced that his office will be canceling his scheduled coffee hours with constituents, as reported by MiSenateGOP.
Schmidt has, in the past, held coffee hours with local residents in order to field questions, concerns and suggestions from those he represents as an opportunity to learn more about his constituents and ensure he can represent them in the best way possible.
However, his upcoming coffee hours will be cancelled, including Monday, Nov. 23, which was supposed to take place at The Paper Station Bistro in Harbor Springs at 11 a.m. He also canceled one that was to take place today at the McDonald's in Newberry at 11 a.m.
