In the Dowagiac Industrial Park, a small local business is busy doing big national things. Janel’s Industries, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) specializes in distributing products to defense logistics agencies. Among SDVOSB’s, Janel’s fluctuates between #1 and #2 in the nation and is in the Top 500 suppliers overall!
Chad Perrin, Janel’s Vice President, USMC veteran and former Dowagiac HS football coach showed us around the facility which includes an employee gym. Janel’s team of 15 employees stay busy with an average of 750 to 800 contracts per year. They warehouse and distribute spare products that are used on a wide variety of military vehicles including aircraft, land vehicles, ships and boats. Currently, 99% of their work is direct with the federal government.
