Attention 6th -12th grade student athletes

Attention 6th -12th grade student athletes.  We will be hosting a concussion base line screening session on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST.

Male athletes please arrive at the high school office at 3:00pm.

Female athletes please arrive at the high school office at 4:00pm.

Attached is a permission form that families will need to fill out.  There will also be forms available at screening that parents can sign.

The screening takes about 1/2 of an hour and is done primarily on the computer.  The purpose of the screening is to get a baseline cognitive assessment.  In the event the student sustains a concussion, this baseline will provide a metric that our school personnel (nurse practitioner) can use to determine whether or not a student can return to play.

In a nutshell, the screening will provide a baseline metric for a students cognitive state.  If the student sustains a concussion, they will retake the screening to ensure their brain has healed enough and has returned to their baseline state.

This screening is NOT mandatory.  However, it fast tracts the students ability to return to play, as our school personnel can quickly do the screening to determine their eligibility.

If you have any questions, please contact our Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Ashly Ellis, or our main office.
