84.5% of Mackinac County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 10,814 citizens living in Mackinac County in 2021, 84.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 9,138 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 4,699 were male, constituting 51.4%, and 4,439 were female, making up 48.6%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Mackinac County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 78.2%.
