The Northern Michigan University (NMU) Wildcats football team is set to face No. 2 Ferris State Bulldogs at home on Saturday, November 2, marking their final game of the season. The match will commence at 1 p.m., with Senior Day recognition taking place prior to kickoff.

The Wildcats currently hold a record of 0-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play, following a recent defeat against Michigan Tech, where they lost 39-9. In contrast, the Bulldogs secured a significant victory over No. 1 Grand Valley State with a score of 34-7.

Head Coach Shane Richardson commented on the upcoming challenge: "We have to make sure we don't allow the disappointment from Tech to carry over too long and also at the same time looking at Ferris and not blowing them way bigger than what they are either. They're a good team, but we have to stay focused on what we can correct and address the mistakes we made last Saturday."

In their last outing against Michigan Tech, NMU's sole touchdown came late in the fourth quarter with Tucker Welch achieving his career-longest rush of 33 yards. Kicker Mike Karlen added points with a successful field goal from 31 yards out.

Notably, NMU fields one of the youngest teams nationally with underclassmen making up over two-thirds of its roster. Adam Saleh stands out defensively with his tackles ranking high in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). Offensively, Michael Love has tied for fourth in touchdown catches within the conference this season.

Ferris State enters this matchup after an impressive win in their recent Anchor-Bone Classic against Grand Valley State. With a current record of 7-1 overall and undefeated in conference play, they hold strong national rankings across various performance metrics including total offense and defense.

Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss leads Ferris State's offensive efforts both on ground and through passing touchdowns while Jalen Jones contributes significantly defensively with league-leading interceptions.
