FOIA Request to Delta County Election Division Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.
As a part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at UP Gazette have submitted a request for records under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq. This request was sent to the Delta County Election Division on October 30, 2024.
Our request specifically seeks access to the pre-election test reports for election voting machines in PDF format. We are interested in obtaining details such as the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status (whether it passed or failed).
At UP Gazette, we believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
