In a spring football game at the Superior Dome, Northern Michigan University's team outpaced Minnesota Duluth with a score of 20-9. The game featured an arranged overtime session, during which NMU secured a touchdown, cementing their notable performance for the day.

Noah Dobert played a pivotal role for Northern Michigan, scoring three touchdowns on the ground and rushing for 153 yards on 12 carries, averaging 12.8 yards per carry. His performance included five runs over 15 yards. Overall, NMU tallied 206 rushing yards on 35 attempts.

Quarterback Duke Shovald completed four out of eight pass attempts, gaining 63 yards. Receiver Isaac Olson contributed significantly with two catches for 41 yards, and Hayden May added 31 yards.

Defensively, NMU limited the Bulldogs to just three field goals and no touchdowns. Jaylen Houston was a standout with 10 tackles and 0.5 sacks. Tim Shannon Jr. contributed four tackles and a pass breakup, Rashad Harris had a full sack, Brady Redmer supplied 0.5 sacks, Murphy Monreal had an interception, and both Mitch Larkin and Jax Hertel made three tackles each.

The game's structure offered each team multiple opportunities on offense, starting from their own 20 or 40-yard lines, and alternating possessions. The Wildcats initiated the day's scoring with Dobert's 28-yard touchdown run following a 35-yard opening run. Despite Northern's offensive challenges early on, their defense held Duluth in check, even as the Bulldogs managed only field goals from within scoring distance.

During the third quarter, executed plays from Northern included another long touchdown run from Dobert and defensive stops that further frustrated Minnesota Duluth's attempts to score. In overtime, Northern's resolve on defense led to a short field goal by Duluth. NMU's final offensive effort concluded with Dobert's third rushing touchdown, sealing the game.
