State Representative Karl Bohnak, a Republican from Deerton, addressed the community following severe flash flooding in L’Anse and Baraga on Thursday. The natural disaster resulted in washed-out roads and driveways, causing significant damage.

In his statement, Rep. Bohnak expressed gratitude to those involved in the response efforts: "Thank you to the Michigan State Police, local law enforcement and government officials, first responders, and all others who stepping up to help after the massive flooding that hit yesterday." He reassured residents by noting that he has been in touch with individuals on-site who confirmed that repairs are underway despite the severity of the situation.

Rep. Bohnak also offered assistance to those impacted by the flooding: "For those affected by the flooding, my office is here to help. Anyone looking for additional information or to be connected with local resources, please contact my office at 517-373-0498 or by email at [email protected]."
