Lake Superior Performance Rally prompts road closures in Marquette on October 18

The Lake Superior Performance Rally is scheduled to take place in Marquette on Saturday, October 18, 2025. As part of the event, several street closures will be implemented to accommodate race activities and ensure public safety.

Mount Marquette Road will be closed between Cliffs Power Road and M553 from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 8:00 p.m. for a stage of the rally. Volunteers will monitor all trail crossings to keep them closed during this period. Cyclists, hikers, and pedestrians are asked to avoid using the recreational area around Mount Marquette Road while the race is underway. Motorists traveling near Mount Marquette Road and M553 are advised to exercise caution and watch for increased traffic entering the roadway.

Washington Street will also be closed to vehicular traffic between Fourth Street and Front Street from noon until midnight for the Podium Ceremony and post-race celebration. Traffic will be rerouted around this closure via Bluff Street, with a signed detour provided. Drivers are encouraged to remain cautious when traveling through the area.
