Noah Dobert has been recognized as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week after his standout performance in Northern Michigan University's 42-21 victory over Roosevelt. Dobert rushed for 243 yards and scored three touchdowns, helping the Wildcats set a new single-game rushing record with 538 yards. The previous school record of 477 rushing yards was established in 1959 against UW-Milwaukee.
Dobert began his scoring midway through the second quarter with a 10-yard touchdown run and added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including one that secured the win. He averaged nearly 6.1 yards per carry on 40 attempts.
Dobert teamed up with Jahi Wood, who also had a significant contribution with 233 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Together, they became only the seventh pair in Division II history to each surpass 200 rushing yards in one game. Their combined effort accounted for five of the team's six touchdowns and most of Northern Michigan's total rushing yardage.
Dobert's performance led to his first selection as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Northern Michigan will return home for their annual Miner's Cup rivalry game against Michigan Tech this Saturday at noon inside the Superior Dome.
