63 percent of applicants to Lake Superior State University were admitted for fall 2018

At Lake Superior State University, 86 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Sault Ste Marie enrolled 1,991 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 7.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

88 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 7 percent are residents of other states. 3 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (81 percent) and American Indian or Alaska Native (8 percent).

The school admitted 63 percent of the 2,949 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
