66 percent of applicants to Northern Michigan University were admitted for fall 2018

At Northern Michigan University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Marquette enrolled 7,595 students in fall 2018, including 7,089 in undergraduate and 506 in graduate programs, data shows. 6.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

71 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 27 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (84 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (4 percent).

The school admitted 66 percent of the 7,607 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
