DPS MAINTENANCE POSITION - Open until filled
The City of Dowagiac is accepting applications for the full-time position of Maintenance Worker with the Department of Public Services.
Applicants must be able to safely and efficiently perform routine, moderately difficult, and emergency tasks involving manual labor and machinery/equipment operation in conjunction with activities surrounding the construction, maintenance, and repair of the water, sewer, and storm systems, street, bridge, sidewalk, alley, and right-of-way systems, and municipal buildings, facilities and grounds.
Must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent), have knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, and practices involving heavy equipment. Valid Driver’s License, with ability to earn Commercial Driver’s License ( within 6 months is required. Variable overtime and on-call status outside of regular hours is to be expected. $17.49 per hour starting wage. Applicants possessing heavy equipment experience and/or current CDL’s will be given priority.
