Breitung Township School District issued the following announcement on Sept 24.

Dear Flivver Families:

The recent mask order by the Dickinson-Iron Health District Health Department (DIDHD) which was issued on 9/16/2021 has been rescinded effective immediately 9/24/2021. This means we will return to our original BTS COVID Operations Plan 2021-2022 in which mask use is recommended but optional for all students and staff members while in school. However, the Center for Disease Control Order issued 1/29/2021 which requires mask use on school buses remains in effect until further notice.

I have included a copy of the letter and rescindment from Mr. Darren Deyaert, Health Officer at the Dickinson-Iron Health District Health Department (DIDHD) as well as the BTS COVID Operations Plan 2021-2022.

It is important to note that we will continue to report positive and probable cases of COVID on our district website as required, and will monitor overall infection rates as it affects our student and staff population.

While we know this has been a challenging time with a great deal of change, we appreciate your patience and support as we work to provide the best possible learning experience for our students.

Sincerely,

David W. Holmes

Superintendent

Breitung Township Schools
