City of Bessemer issued the following announcement on Sept 22.
The City of Bessemer is seeking applications for heavy equipment operator and common laborer positions. The city currently has one opening with other positions opening shortly. The City is looking for full time permanent and potentially full time temporary workers. The heavy equipment operator starts at $20.40 and the common laborer at $19.96. Both positions have $.50 raises every 6 months for 2 years and full benefits including pension. Applicants must have a CDL. To apply, pick up an application at City Hall. The City will begin reviewing applications September 30th.
