City of Bessemer issued the following announcement on Nov 3.
Plowing season is upon us. Please do your part to help us keep the streets plowed in a timely manner.
Please do not put any markers in the right of way to attempt to keep the City from plowing and/or removing snow. Most streets in town have 60 or 66 foot right-of-ways and the city often needs to clear off grassed in areas for line of sight. Anything you put on the right-of-way may be damaged by the plows and we are not responsible for this damage. If you put rocks on the right-of-way, please remove them so it doesn't damage the plows and hinder our ability to keep the streets clear this winter.
If your ability to park off the street hasn't been hindered by the current construction, please do not park on the street. You can be ticketed or towed. Even if there is no prediction for snow, we often plow to take up a mat of snow to keep the streets drivable all winter long and your car could be in the way.
Thank you for doing your part and happy start of winter!
