Carney-Nadeau Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec 3.
Hello Everyone,
Today it was discovered that the main water line coming into our building has sprung a leak. Based on the level of saturation, it appears to have just occurred this morning. The leak is located just under the stairwell leading down to the basement and is right next to two sump pumps. Water is leaking in, but is being pumped right out. We have water pressure, so all plumbing is still working in the building, and from the student's/staff perspective, no aspect of our operation is affected.
At 3:20 today, we will be shutting off the water to our building and we have a plumber coming in to repair the pipe tomorrow morning. The job is going to take several hours, and, obviously, the water needs to stay shut off while he works. From 3:20 today until about noon tomorrow, then, our building is going to be without plumbing. Unfortunately, this means we're going to have to cancel school tomorrow. Thankfully, we were only scheduled for a half day of school with students tomorrow anyways, so we're not losing a full day of instruction. We have a home game scheduled for tomorrow evening, and since the repair will be completed well before start time, we can still have our game. Again, though, school is canceled for students tomorrow (12/3).
This same information is being sent via a mass call-out shortly.
I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you,
Adam Cocco
