Bessemer Area School District issued the following announcement on Jan 20.
Congratulations to Jack Matrella for being selected as a finalist for the Class D MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award.
This is a pretty big deal as only 5 student athletes from the UP and 120 in the whole state (in all classes) were selected as finalists.
The final award recipients will be announced next week.
