Sit back and enjoy a Thursday night in Dowagiac

Sit back and enjoy a Thursday night in Dowagiac.

The electricity created by the culmination of a remeberance car cruise and cancer benefit ride, firefighters cooking on the grill, and the weekly free Music in the Park, may sound special... And standing alone, it is, but this is what it's like when you are a part of the Dowagiac community.

Residents who share and show up for their  neighbors, volunteers who create special moments to share, business owners (new and multi generational) who work, collaborate, and play as neighbors, and those special people who share  of their natural talents and passions to make life better - this melting pot is what makes a regular Thursday (or any day) feel special in Dowagiac.

Thank you Curt Rohdy of John & Curt's Brake & Alignment!  You allow the community in to help honor your freind Ed Kazlauskas and make a difference. Thank you for organizing Ed's Open Header Cruise for a Cause.

Zena Burns, of 1870 House, Thank you for a summer of family fun and fabulous Music in the Park, and there is still more to come! Thank you Dowagiac Fire Department for the tasty brats and dogs on the grill.

Thank you Scott Rose (Photography by Scott Rose.) You live like you are "just a man with a camera" but you humbly "just" show up at student athletic events, graduation, festivals, snow falls at midnight, youth theatre, pagents and proms, and the list goes on.

Your talented eye captures some of the important moments in our lives. You also capture a regular Tuesday and make it feel like one of the most important moments in our  lives. Though  your camera, you share some of what is important to you, about your community, thank you for letting  us share it with the world.
