Halloween trick-or-treating in the City of Marquette will take place on Friday, October 31, 2025. The city has set recommended hours for trick-or-treating from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Officials are asking motorists to be aware of increased pedestrian activity during these hours and to use extra caution when driving through neighborhoods or entering and exiting driveways. Drivers are also advised to turn on headlights earlier in the day and reduce speed in residential areas.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their children while trick-or-treating and follow several safety guidelines. These include adding glow sticks, flashlights, or reflective tape to costumes and bags for visibility; trick-or-treating in groups with an adult present for young children; using sidewalks and staying in well-lit areas; ensuring costumes fit properly to avoid tripping hazards; always using crosswalks when crossing streets; waiting until returning home before inspecting and eating candy; remaining alert for vehicles near driveways and intersections; keeping phones handy for communication; setting a route and curfew for older children; and keeping pets indoors during festivities.
"Motorists, please anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic during this time; be extra cautious when entering and exiting driveways. We recommend turning on headlights earlier in the day and driving slowly through neighborhoods."
