EAA Chapter 1672, a new local chapter formed in association with the Menominee Reginal Airport, is holding Airport Day on Aug. 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in order to promote interest in aviation and provide a fun and educational experience for our community, according to organizers. It will focus on Menominee’s role in aviation and should be inspiration for young people hoping to pursue a career as a pilot or mechanic. The event will feature:
• Officer Mitchell McRae of the Menominee Police Department will be demonstrating the police department drone and robot.
• Young Eagles—pilots giving youth from ages 8 to 17 a free scenic flight and introduction to general aviation. All expenses are paid by the local volunteer.
• Local pilots will display their diverse planes at the airport.
• Family friendly activities including bounce houses, games, and community groups.
• Pilotsmith, Inc. Flight School will have a drawing for a free discovery flight (value $124)
• Local vendors will have food for purchase
