The Houghton City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 5:30 pm on a request to vacate and abandon a sidewalk easement between the 1978 parking deck and Shelden Avenue described as follows:
Commencing at the Southeast corner of Block 6, of said Plat of the “Village of Houghton”; Thence East, along the North right-of-way line of Shelden Avenue 46.41 feet to the point of beginning; Thence N00°14’33”E, 65.81 feet; thence S89°54’14”E, 0.60 feet; Thence N00°05’24”W, 34.19 feet; Thence S89°45’50”E, 11.59 feet; Thence S00°52’28” W, 99.96 feet to said North right-of-way line of Shelden Avenue; Thence West, along said North right-of-way line, 10.89 feet to the point of beginning. The above-described easement shall be vertically confined between elevations of 634.0 feet and 642 feet (DATUM=NAVD88).
The public hearing is a chance for the council to receive public comments. Written comments can be mailed to the Houghton City Clerk’s Office, 616 Shelden Avenue, Houghton, or e-mailed to the clerk: ann@cityofhoughton.com.
