7.1% of citizens unemployed in Alger County in 2021

Alger County recorded an unemployment rate of 7.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 216 people out of the 8,911 living in Alger County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Alger County has increased compared to the 4.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Alger County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.2%.

Everyone who had a job at the time belonged to the civilian labor force.
