State Rep. Jaime Greene expressed her excitement and celebration upon hearing the news that Selfridge Air National Guard Base has been chosen to host a new fleet of 12 KC-46A Pegasus aircraft. The aging A-10 attack aircraft and the KC-135 tankers currently stationed at Selfridge will be phased out in the coming years, making way for the new tankers.

In response to the announcement, Rep. Greene stated, "I am thrilled Selfridge Air National Guard Base has been selected as the new home for the KC-46As. With hundreds of dedicated personnel and a massive impact on our local economy, Selfridge is a cornerstone of our community, fostering both security and economic stability. The incoming KC-46As ensure that Selfridge will continue to play a crucial role in national defense for many years to come. This is a proud moment for Macomb County, Michigan, and I look forward to seeing the continued success and growth of Selfridge."

Selfridge Air National Guard Base currently operates 21 aircraft and is supported by 611 personnel, including 246 full-time employees. The base has a significant impact on Michigan's economy, contributing over $44 million each year.

Rep. Greene also expressed her commitment to working alongside Michigan's federal delegation to advocate for a new fighter mission at Selfridge. By doing so, she aims to further strengthen the base's importance in national defense and continue to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the surrounding community.

The selection of Selfridge Air National Guard Base as the new home for the KC-46A Pegasus aircraft is not only a testament to the base's capabilities and significance but also a promising opportunity for the region.
