FOIA Request Sent to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024

FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments from January to September 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to Dekalb County. The request, sent on September 26, 2024, seeks access to records of all payments made to vendors within the county from January 1, 2024 till September 26, 2024.

The specific fields requested include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount of each payment. These details are essential for us in providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable.

As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe that access to such public records is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. Therefore, we have also requested a fee waiver as part of this FOIA request.

We continue to strive towards keeping our readers informed about their local government's activities and ensuring that transparency is maintained at all levels. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
