FOIA Request Sent to Baraga County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to Baraga County, Michigan on September 26, 2024. The request, sent by us at UP Gazette, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, seeks information about the county's vendor payments.

The records requested specifically pertain to all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, until September 26, 2024. We have asked for these records in an electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting. The details we are seeking include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid.

As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to such public records is crucial for our work. It enables us to keep the public informed about how their tax dollars are being spent and hold government entities accountable for their financial decisions.
