The Wildcats men's soccer team ended their weekend trip with a 1-1 draw against Davenport in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The match saw both teams score in quick succession during the second half.

Easton Lopez scored for the Panthers in the 65th minute, taking a 1-0 lead. However, just a minute later, Tyler Kowalczyk equalized for the Wildcats. Kowalczyk's goal came shortly after he was substituted into the game, marking his first career collegiate goal.

The result snapped a three-game losing streak for the Wildcats, bringing their overall record to 4-4-2 and their conference play record to 1-4-1.

Tyler Kowalczyk's goal secured an important point on the road for the Wildcats. Nils Cedergren contributed with two saves during the match. James Carr, Alessandro Scialanga, Luca Rub, Quint Van Roij, and Jan Hoffmann played the entire match while Isaac Cervantes played 89 minutes.

Both teams took ten shots each; however, the Wildcats had a slight advantage with four shots on target compared to Davenport's three. Each team also earned six corner kicks throughout the game. Historically, four of their last six meetings have ended in draws.

In a tense moment towards the end of the match, NMU was awarded a free kick from outside the 18-yard box but failed to capitalize as Tomasso Lami's shot went over the crossbar. In response to Davenport's late free kick opportunity, NMU successfully defended and cleared to maintain the draw.

The Wildcats will conclude their road trip against Saginaw Valley on Sunday at 2 PM.
