Tommaso Lami has been recognized as the GLIAC men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second time in his career that he has received this honor, following a standout performance over the weekend where he scored two goals.
Lami, a graduating student-athlete and team captain, played his last regular-season home game for the Wildcats. He contributed significantly to their 2-0 victory on Sunday, witnessed by friends, families, and local youth soccer players.
This achievement marks Lami's first multi-goal game of the season and third overall in his career. Over the weekend's matches, he recorded two goals, including a game-winning goal, five shots on target from six attempts (.833 SOG%), and played for 168 minutes.
Head coach Alex Fatovic expressed satisfaction with Lami's performance: "Our staff is extremely happy for Tommaso and the team after a wonderful performance yesterday," Fatovic said. "Everyone at NMU and the GLIAC knows Tommaso has great qualities, but to score 2 goals of that level on his senior day, you can't ask for much better. Bravo Tommy! Now do it again!"
