State Representative Karl Bohnak has introduced a plan to provide financial relief following severe flooding in L’Anse and Baraga. The proposal seeks to allocate $465,900 from state funds to aid recovery efforts.

“Our community is fast at work cleaning up the mess left behind by the flooding,” stated Bohnak, R-Deerton. “These dollars would give our local officials the resources they need to continue recovery efforts and rebuild our critical infrastructure.”

The funding comes from a previous state allocation after a similar flood in 2018. At that time, Baraga County did not use all of the allocated funds. Bohnak's current plan aims to redirect these unused funds to address the recent disaster.
