State Representative Karl Bohnak of Deerton held a press conference on Monday alongside fellow Upper Peninsula legislators and the United Steel Workers. The event was organized to show support for legislation aimed at protecting the region's 13 RICE generators.
The gathering took place at Ronn Hall in Negaunee, hosted by USW Local 4950, and saw attendance from numerous union members and community leaders. Photos from the event were provided by the office of State Rep. Karl Bohnak.
Rep. Bohnak emphasized that without legislative intervention, new green energy mandates could lead to the shutdown of these generators.
