State Representative Karl Bohnak of Deerton, Michigan, issued a statement following an attempted attack on the Dickinson County Republican Party Headquarters. The suspect was arrested after being caught on video trying to throw an unlit Molotov cocktail at the building.

"There are few events as disheartening and dangerous as attempts to change minds through violence," Bohnak stated. He emphasized that such acts have no place in Michigan or anywhere in the country.

Bohnak called for a shift towards kindness and respect, highlighting a recent assassination in Minnesota as part of a troubling trend of political violence. "The responsibility to change course falls on us all," he said, urging people to reject violence and embrace unity despite policy differences.
