32 percent of applicants to Finlandia University were admitted for fall 2018

At Finlandia University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Hancock enrolled 456 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 10.1 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

64 percent of undergraduates are residents of Michigan, and 35 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (54 percent) and Black or African American (4 percent).

The school admitted 32 percent of the 1,511 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 21 percent enrolled.
