City of Menominee issued the following announcement on July 28.

The City of Menominee, Michigan (8,599) is currently accepting resumés for a full-time Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer position. Under the general supervision of the City Manager, the Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for performing plan review and inspections following the International Building and Residential Codes. The Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer is also responsible for enforcing and attaining compliance under the International Property Maintenance Code. The successful candidate will possess integrity and a strong knowledge of municipal building and enforcement processes. The person in this position also administers the provisions of the zoning ordinance and works closely with the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.  The ability to develop positive working relationships with City staff, residents, businesses, architects, contractors, and other members of the general public is a must. The candidate must also possess a proven ability to apply codes and ordinances firmly, tactfully and impartially.

Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three (3) years of municipal experience in plan review, inspections and/or code enforcement. A valid driver's license as well as good computer, communication, and customer service skills required. Position requires State of Michigan Plan Review and Building Inspector license and/or the ability to obtain these licenses along with obtaining the following ICC certifications: Residential Building Inspector, Commercial Building Inspector, Building Plans Examiner, and/or Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector. Other ICC certifications highly desirable. Candidates shall supply a list of all ICC Certifications with their application. Must be willing to pursue additional ICC certifications as requested.

Salary range $44,000 – $48,000 +/- DOQ plus excellent benefits package.
