City of Menominee issued the following announcement on Feb 25.
The City of Menominee is accepting letters of interest from registered voters in the 2nd Ward for appointment to the City Council to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of a 2nd Ward Council Member.
The City Council will hold their regular meeting on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. to hear from prospective appointees and to appoint an eligible person. To be eligible for appointment a person must be a registered voter of the City and reside in the 2nd Ward. The person appointed will take office at the Council meeting on March 21, 2022 and serve until the next regular City Council election on November 7, 2023.
Ward 2 begins at the Menominee River proceeding North along 15th Street to 11th Avenue, East on 11th Avenue to 14th Street, North along 14th Street to 16th Avenue, West on 16th Avenue to 15th Street, North on 15th Street to 20th Avenue, West on 20th Avenue to 18th Street, South on 18th Street to 18th Avenue, West on 18th Avenue to the City limits.
Letters of interest will be accepted at the office of Mayor Jean Stegeman until 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 16th.
