City of Ishpeming - Chief of Police
The Chief of Police is a non-union position, employed at-will under the general supervision and direction of the City Manager. The Chief of Police plans, coordinates, develops, and directs a complete program of community–oriented police services for a population of people +/- 6,200 living in the City of Ishpeming. The Police Department includes a 11-person staff to ensure continuous enforcement of laws and ordinances, to protect the lives and property of the public, and preserve peace. The Chief of Police establishes and administers departmental policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to police activities, department personnel, and overall departmental administration.
