Whether real or fake, we'll take it - just not during your regular refuse day! Christmas trees should be set out at the curb for disposal during your monthly Heavy Item & Brush Collection week. Fake trees will be taken with other bulky refuse items, while real trees will be taken and composted with brush collection. Trees will *not* be collected during regular weekly refuse collection. (Edited to add: Apparently goats like pine trees. Check out the comments for more info!)

Reminders:- Heavy Item and Brush Collection happens once monthly. Your week depends on what area you live in!- Collection begins on Monday each week, but collection could occur anytime during that week.- Items should be set out no earlier than the Saturday before your scheduled week.

Not sure in what area you live? Want to know what qualifies as a heavy item? Keep forgetting your brush collection week? No worries! Download the free Recycle Coach mobile app or visit www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/publicservices to get collection schedules, the 'What Goes Where?' tool, and even sign up for collection reminders.
