EAST LANSING, Mich. — The East Lansing Human Rights Commission (HRC) will host its next Coffee & Conversation session on Sunday, Jan. 29.

The HRC Coffee & Conversation series serves as a forum for community discussions on topics of diversity and inclusion. The topic to be discussed at the Jan. 29 session is “Strengthening Protections for the LGBTQIA+ Community” and will reflect on what’s next now that the Michigan Supreme Court has affirmed that the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of an individual’s sexual orientation.

The January Coffee & Conversation session will be held from 1-3 p.m. at PappaRoti, 1000 Trowbridge Road, East Lansing. All community members are invited to attend.

Additional Coffee and Conversation sessions will be announced as they become available. Check the City’s website www.cityofeastlansing.com for more dates as they are scheduled.
