EAST LANSING, Mich. — East Lansing Mayor Ron Bacon is partnering with Gift of Life Michigan to host a special event at the East Lansing Public Library (ELPL), 950 Abbot Road, on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 5-6:30 p.m.
The event will serve to support organ and tissue donation and educate the community about how everyone can help save lives. Community members are invited to stop by during the event to learn about the organ and tissue donation process and how they can give someone else the gifts of life, sight and mobility by adding their name to the Michigan Organ Donor Registry. There will also be an opportunity for community members to interact with Gift of Life’s All of Us program kit and learn how organs function in the body. Light refreshments will be provided.
“Organ donation is an opportunity to provide a second chance to people who may be in the end stages of their life. It can mean the difference between life and death,” said East Lansing Mayor Ron Bacon. “I’m honored to partner with Gift of Life Michigan to support the important work that they are doing in facilitating organ and tissue donation here in Michigan.”
